THE REEL SCRIPT STRUCTURE THAT WORKS
  • Line 1 — The Hook: Create tension or curiosity in one sentence. This is the only line that matters until it's right. Don't write line 2 until line 1 is impossible to scroll past.
  • Lines 2–3 — Deepen the tension: Don't resolve the hook yet. Add stakes, add context, add the cost of not watching. The viewer needs to feel the problem before they'll want the solution.
  • Body — Escalate through specifics: Every line should move the viewer closer to the payoff without arriving there yet. Use exact numbers, specific moments, named results. Vague scripts lose viewers.
  • Pattern interrupt: At roughly the halfway point, add one unexpected line — a twist, a contradiction, or a surprising admission. This resets attention for the second half.
  • Close and CTA: Resolve the tension opened in line 1. The viewer should feel the loop close. Your CTA (follow, save, comment) should feel like a natural next step, not a request bolted on.
